Armstrong No. 54 Hand Sharpener

The No. 54 Armstrong hand sharpener is precision manufactured to produce accurately sharpened saws. Every feature of the machine has been designed to enable the operator to do the best possible job of hand sharpening on both rip and cut-off saws, both large and small saws being handled with equal ease and efficiency.
IMPORTANT FEATURES:
  • Saws full 60" in diameter may be sharpened without cutting a hole in the floor or putting the machine on a pedestal.
  • Straight line vertical travel of grinding wheel, with free, smooth action.
  • Operating handle located in a convenient position for comfortable operation, permitting clear vision of the work.
  • Special assembly available to permit sharpening edger saws mounted on collars (providing bore size is 3" dia. or larger) without removing saws from the collar.
  • Easily adjusted guarded electric light for close work.
  • Machined quadrant swings full 90 degrees, permitting tooth bevels up to 45 degrees.
  • Center of grinding wheel always stays over the center of the saw.
  • Safely guarded grinding wheel runs smoothly on ball bearing arbor.
  
  • Saw carriage adjusts easily and quickly to proper height by means of hand crank with gear and rack arrangement.
  • Positive depth stop is provided for use in jointing or gumming.
  • Armstrong system of quick saw centering cone collars as used on our carbide sharpeners has been incorporated into the design of this machine.
  • Extra heavy construction is provided to give long, dependable service, as well as assure maximum rigidity and precision.
