ISOLATE THE "SYSTEM" TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM The FOUR MAIN "SYSTEMS" at work in a band saw sharpener are:
A good troubleshooting technique is to trace a problem back to one of these four "systems. Look for ways to isolate the "system" and inspect independently of the others. MAKE YOUR ADJUSTMENTS ONE AT A TIME Go back and reset-up your machine according to the instructions for initial set-up and installation. After you are certain the sharpener is properly set-up and aligned, make just one correction at a time and then inspect to see if the situation has improved or deteriorated. If several adjustments are made at once, the original problem could be fixed while a different problem is created. |
