In 1998 the arbor for No. 2 Armstrong sharpeners were upgraded. This new 1" diameter arbor and flange is machined from a single piece of steel. It is much more rigid and precise than the original style arbors, which had the flange pressed onto a 3/4" diameter arbor. The heavier arbor is now standard on all new No. 2 Sharpeners and can be supplied as an upgrade for older machines. The original style arbors (P/N 2578 and 2577) are no longer available.
